Today, TIME and TIME for Kids proudly announces the 2024 Kid of the Year, highlighting a new generation of trailblazers making a profound impact. This year’s recipient, 15-year-old Heman Bekele from Fairfax, Virginia, is recognized for his groundbreaking work in developing an affordable, compound-based bar of soap that could transform skin cancer treatment. Alongside Heman, five remarkable honorees have been celebrated: Shanya Gill (13, San Jose, CA), Madhvi Chittoor (12, Arvada, CO), Jordan Sucato (15, Phoenix, AZ), Keivonn Woodard (11, Bowie, MD), and Dom Pecora (15, Malvern, PA). Their achievements showcase the exceptional talent of today’s youth.
