Many do not know that Easter is a floating holiday and follows the lunar calendar and fell early this year. Retailers ramped up with expections cautiously knowing that it could be a light season as everyone is coming off the holidays still feeling it from Valentines Day. Indeed sales were off probably more than expected however for some there was that last minute gift for hostess gifts that took the bite out of what could have been dismal.
